Brandy Machado is an independent filmmaker residing in Portland, OR. After being dead set on studying film at UCLA, she ended up graduating from Harvard in 2014 with a major in the Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality instead. During a quarter-life crisis that led her to do a 1,000-mile solo bicycle tour around Ireland, Brandy realized that filmmaking was still where her heart was. She returned to Portland, enrolled in classes at the Northwest Film Center, and spent all of her savings on a camera. Since rediscovering her love for filmmaking in 2015, she has produced numerous student and independent projects, worked as a production assistant for VICE and Hulu, and done a bit of freelancing. Brandy is currently the Studio Manager at A+B Pictures and is developing a web series called Happenstance.
