Heather Hawksford

Producer, Director, Photographer/BTS

Heather Hawksford spent years as a social worker, working with imprisoned and houseless youth, and then as a portrait photographer. She eventually discovered a way to meld her two interests together in the form of documentary photography and film. Recently, Heather produced the award-winning documentary Forest on Fire about the 2017 Eagle Creek wildfire that burned a vast area in the Columbia River Gorge.
Heather also co-founded “Motherist”, a mother focused artist residency program which explores how the experience of motherhood informs our art and perhaps makes it stronger.
